"Hardware is the new software" — so says Chris Anderson, former editor-in-chief of WIRED magazine. For years Anderson has been busy fostering and participating in the burgeoning Makers Movement, a movement he thinks is on the verge of becoming a revolution.

The quickly dropping costs of personal 3D printers will allow anyone to turn their creations into physical objects. This democratized freedom to manufacture is going to be as disruptive to our world of "things" as the Internet was to how we connect. Anyone and everyone can now be a designer, manufacturer and inventor.
