Privacy Policy

Welcome to the official Web site of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA). We have created this Web site to provide information about our exhibitions, performances, film/video screenings, and public programs and to fulfill ticket requests and accept contributions.

To help us achieve these purposes and in order to better serve our customers, we gather two types of limited information from visitors to our Web site: anonymous usage information, and the personal information provided by those who register with us to purchase tickets, make a donation and/or receive e-mail news and special offers. Details about what information we gather and how we use it is presented here. YBCA is committed to doing our best to ensure the privacy of all customers and our Web site visitors.

We respect the privacy of our online visitors. You are welcome to visit and browse our Web site as often as you like without logging in and no personally identifiable information about your visit will be collected.

Anonymous Information

YBCA does collect email addresses and other personal information (name, address and phone number) from visitors who wish to purchase tickets online, make an online donation, request information or join our E-Offer Club to receive our monthly E-Zine, as well as last-minute ticket offers and special promotions. Visitors can remove themselves from our email list at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe Link that is included in every email we send out. Yerba Buena Center for the Arts does not sell, trade or share email addresses with any other organizations.

Our servers track your usage by logging your IP address. We do not associate the anonymous information we collect through the tags with any personal information, and we do not otherwise monitor this information on an individual basis. Instead, we aggregate this usage information and use it only to monitor broad usage trends, to evaluate the effectiveness of our Web site's design, to determine what customers do and do not use on the Web site, and to improve the site's overall usability.

We may perform, or have third parties perform, analyses of visitor behavior, and may share aggregated data with sponsors and advertisers, again on an entirely anonymous basis.

Personal Information

Personal information is any data related to the personal identity of a visitor to our Web site. A customer's name, address, phone number, credit card number, e-mail address, and purchase history are all examples of personal information.

We do not require visitors to provide any personal information in order to browse or obtain general information from our Web site. We do, however, require Web site users to register and provide personal information in order to purchase tickets, request a brochure or other information, or make contributions. In these cases we collect only the personal information that a registrant specifically provides when registering, including User Name and Password.

If you register, this information is used to fulfill your request and to provide a record of your transaction. It is stored by YBCA and used again in subsequent visits only if you wish to make another purchase, make a contribution, or have an inquiry. Until that point your return visit is anonymous as only logging in triggers personal recognition on our site.

We also use personal information from registrants to add to or update our postal mailing lists and telephone lists for season schedules, special offers, and general information. We may also use personal information to evaluate our registrants' usage and transactions, and to analyze how we can make the site more effective and interesting for you.

YBCA does not share our customers' e-mail addresses or telephone numbers with other organizations or businesses.

Occasionally, we allow other select not-for-profit organizations to mail information, via post, to portions of our mailing lists. If you do not wish us to share your name and address information, please e-mail and ask to be placed on our "DO NOT TRADE" list.

Periodically, we provide registrants with important last-minute information and exclusive offers via e-mail, such as street closures, program and guest artist changes, special offers, and notification of special events. In every email, we provide you with the opportunity to opt out of our e-mail list, should you wish to do so.

Children

We do not solicit personal information from people known to be children.
